Is State Street a retail bank?
State Street does not operate as a retail bank, although we did have a retail banking presence mostly in and around our headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts, in the United States. In October 1999, we sold our retail and commercial banking services to Citizens Bank, with the objective of focusing all of our resources on our core client base — global investors.

An online version of the corporation's most recent annual report is provided on www.statestreet.com under the "Investor Relations" link on the site's home page. Once in the Investor Relations site, click on the "Annual Reports and Financial Trends" button. You will find a listing of annual reports for the last several years. To receive information about any of these types of accounts, you should contact your plan administrator, or the financial services company from which you originally purchased your fund or invested your RSP account. These organizations keep records of individual account information.

I have a stock for which State Street is the custodian. How do I find out who to contact regarding my stock?
In order to find out who to contact regarding your stock, you should look at the certificate and call the phone number listed under "Transfer Agent." Transfer Agents have account information on stocks. If you have State Street Corporation (STT) stock, the transfer agent is Equiserve. Equiserve's telephone number is +1 800 426 5523.
